Our cat is 13 and has never really loved any scratching furniture we've bought her. But when we put down a new area rug, she nearly decimated it in 2 nights. So we ordered a Kong. She took to it instantly, and scratches it and lies on it constantly. She's nearly used up the first side in only 2 weeks, so we bought a bunch of refills. It is messy, with little pieces of cardboard all over, but we like that better than piles of rug fibers!

Ordered these Kong Cat Scratchers because of their width and reasonable pricing. I have 3 cats and they would not know how to live without these. I just wish the scratching part would last longer. I always order in multiples and take advantage of the free shipping.

We have 3 cats and we've used cardboard scratchers for them before. Usually, about 2-3 weeks after we put one out, we need to flip it over and give them the second side. With the Kong scratcher, we've had it out for over a month now and haven't had to flip it over. The cats also seemed to enjoy the catnip that the Kong comes with a lot more than other brands.

My cat loves using this to 'groom' her nails... As the prior review mentioned, it does tend to make a small bit of a mess. But can easily be picked up quickly, even just using your hands.. Cat is really attracted to it, and the catnip keeps her interest. This is a Much better option than to my couches !! :D Overall, good product with double lifetime, for a good price!
